The logo appears again on the strap alongside the Union Jack - a nod to the band’s British heritage. Turning the watch over reveals the renowned and reliable El Primero movement with The Rolling Stones’ tongue and lips logo emblazoned on the winding rotor. Sub-registers at 6 and 9 o’clock display the chronograph hours and minutes with red-tipped hands adding a touch of colour. The nuanced dial has been partly skeletonised to frame the open escapement and gear train. The 42mm DLC coated titanium case has hollowed-out lugs that create an attractive profile and further enhance the watch’s lightness. This watch will be up for sale at the Only Watch charity auction, taking place in Geneva on 7 November 2015, to assist in furthering research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This unique Zenith El Primero Striking 10th Lightweight Tribute to the Rolling Stones for Only Watch 2015 comes in a presentation box bearing the Rolling Stones logo in conjunction with that of Zenith. The hands are also specific to this edition and depicts the fretboard of the Fender Telecaster guitar, made famous by the Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards. The strap is embossed with the Union Jack (the UK flag) and the band’s tong logo (a logo that can also be found on the oscillating weight). This Zenith El Primero Striking 10th Lightweight is also paying tribute to the partnership with famous Rock band ‘The Rolling Stones’. The Zenith El Primero Striking 10th Lightweight Tribute to the Rolling Stones has a 45mm case made of black DLC titanium and alternates between brushed and polished surfaces. The case is however coming in a more classical material compared to the first Lightweight edition (that was featuring a carbon fiber case). Around the 3 sub-counters with the iconic 3 colours (light grey, anthracite and dark blue), the dial is opened to reveal some parts, including a open-worked date wheel (the date is shown at 6 and enlighten in red). It means that the dial is partially skeletonized. This edition also reintroduces the ‘Lightweight’ concept that we also seen in the 2014 Zenith El Primero Lightweight.

This watch feature a foudroyante second hand that makes a full run of a dial not in 60 seconds (like the majority of the chronographs on the market) but in 10 seconds, making the display extremely precise and easy to read. Indeed, the El Primero ticks at a rather unusual 36.000 beats per hour, making it precise to the 10th of a second, something that is again emphasizes into the Striking 10th edition. However, the Zenith proposition still has today something specific: it is a high beat movement. In fact, it’s not really the watch itself that is an icon but more the movement that has to be praised, as this caliber was in 1969 part of the world’s first automatic chronographs triad (together with the Heuer Calibre 11 and the Seiko 6139). When we say legendary, it’s with no doubt what the Zenith El Primero is – whatever the edition. Here is the Zenith El Primero Striking 10th Lightweight Tribute to the Rolling Stones for Only Watch 2015. Tudor will come with a one-of-a-kind Black Bay and now Zenith introduces its unique edition of the legendary El Primero. Apart from the crazy complicated creations offered for Only Watch 2015 – like the unique Patek Philippe 5016 (with a minute repeater, a tourbillon and a QP) or the music machine by Ulysse Nardin – this charity auction held by Phillips Watches on November 7th, 2015 will also show the opportunity to bet on more affordable but iconic watches – but of course, in unique editions.
